The Narrator
The Narrator builds the world and plays every character in it — allies, strangers, enemies, the weather, the consequences. It goes first each turn, telling you where you are and what is happening, then hands control back to you. It always addresses your character by name, never by your username.
What a turn is
A turn is one reply from the Narrator. The Narrator narrates; you respond; the Narrator narrates again. Reading the story, chatting with your table, and rolling dice do not cost a turn — a turn is spent only when the Narrator writes back.
Choices, and “Something else”
When the story reaches a decision, the Narrator offers a few concrete choices as tappable pills so you can move fast. There is always a “Something else” option too — tap it to type what your character actually does. The suggestions are a shortcut, never a cage; the story is yours to steer.
Speaking vs. asking
- Speak — this is your move. What your character says, does, or attempts. It goes to the Narrator and moves the story on. Each Speak burns one turn from the pack.
- Ask — a free question about what you have already been told (“what’s in my pack?”, “what’s my Vitality?”, or how the world works). Asking never costs a turn and never needs a roll, and the Narrator’s answer comes back attributed to the Narrator — not as your character speaking.
- One toggle, two channels — the composer has a single Speak / Ask switch. Tap the ⓘ next to it any time to see the difference and how many free questions you have left; your free-question allowance matches your turn pack.
- Party chat — talk to your table out of character. It stays between players and never reaches the Narrator.
