Joining a friend’s table

If a friend is hosting, joining takes under a minute. You do not need an account and you never pay — the host covers the table for everyone.

1. Enter the room code

  1. Open the join page your host shares (or go to the app and choose “Join”).
  2. Type the room code the host gave you.
  3. You land at the table, in the same live story as everyone else.

2. Make or claim a character

Pick a ready-made character from the world’s cast, or forge your own — a name, a Calling (what your character does), and an Ancestry (what kin they come from). The Narrator starts addressing you by your character’s name straight away.

3. Play

You take turns exactly like everyone else: read the scene, choose or type what your character does, and roll when the Narrator asks. Anyone at the table can act — you are not waiting on the host to relay your moves.

What guests can and can’t do

  • You can: play your character, speak and act, roll your own dice, chat with the table, and change your own dice and tray look.
  • You can watch the host’s and other players’ dice rolls happen at the table — dramatic rolls are shown to everyone.
  • Ending the session and saving the tale is the host’s call — that button is theirs.
  • The turn pool belongs to the host, so you never see or spend credits. You just play.
